No account, no cloud
Game progress (levels, stars, coins, recipes, postcards, weekly challenge, Travel Pass, decoration, pet, jar designs), settings and purchase status are stored only on your device and are not accessible to us. Saving the recipe book as a PDF or copying a recipe also happens only on your device. We do not use analytics or crash reporting services. Storing your progress and settings on the device is strictly necessary for the game (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Ads
The app shows ads from Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited), never in the middle of a level: optional rewarded videos that you choose to watch (e.g. “double reward” or “+5 moves”), and a full-screen ad between levels – from level 6 at the earliest, after every third completed level or when 10 minutes have passed since the last ad. The “Remove ads” purchase permanently removes the ads between levels; optional reward videos remain available. In the EEA, Switzerland and the UK personalised ads are only shown with your consent; otherwise ad delivery depends on your remaining choices and the permitted serving mode. The maximum ad content rating is “T” (Teen). Google processes technical data such as device type, OS version, approximate location derived from the IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics and the device’s advertising ID to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. In the EEA, Switzerland and the UK we ask for consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform before the first ad (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can change it at any time under Settings → Privacy settings in the game. Elsewhere (where no consent dialog appears), the app shows only non-personalised ads, based on our legitimate interest in funding the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); as we are based in Germany, the GDPR applies to all processing wherever you live. Storing or reading information on your device for ads (e.g. advertising or similar identifiers) only happens with your consent (§ 25(1) German TDDDG) or where strictly necessary to deliver the ad (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Advertising ID
You can reset or delete your device’s advertising ID at any time in Android settings (Privacy → Ads or Google → Ads, depending on the device).
In-app purchases
Optional purchases: coin packs, starter pack, Travel Pass (premium tier for the current monthly season), rescue pack, “Remove ads”, cookbook pack, gold and marble jar designs and a bunny pet. There are no subscriptions. Payment is processed by Google via Google Play Billing as an independent controller; we receive no payment details, only whether a purchase exists (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Purchases are verified on the device; we run no server. Restore them under Settings → Restore purchases.
Permissions
Internet and network state (ads and purchases), Google Play billing and the advertising ID permission, plus technical permissions added by Google’s ads library (Android ad services, background operation). No access to contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location.
Transfers, retention, rights
Google may process data outside the EU, including the USA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. You can delete your progress under Settings → Reset progress, by clearing the app data (Android Settings → Apps → Gewürzreise → Storage → Clear data) or by uninstalling the app; we store no data on our own servers. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Bavaria: BayLDA, Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany).
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect personal data ourselves. Purchases can be restricted with Google Play purchase authentication and Google Family Link.
Consent and non-personalised advertising
Non-personalised ads can still use device identifiers and local storage and may therefore require consent. Declining personalised ads does not automatically authorise that access. Ad delivery depends on your privacy choices, applicable requirements and the permitted serving mode. You can change your choices through the game’s ad privacy settings.
