No account, no cloud
Solved levels, stars, daily puzzle results and streak, the display name you choose, settings, costumes, hints, achievements and statistics are saved locally. If you use the optional daily puzzle leaderboard, the leaderboard data described below is transmitted to the server; this does not create a cloud save of your full progress. We do not use analytics or crash reporting services. Storing your progress and settings on the device is strictly necessary for the game (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Ads
The app shows ads from Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited), never in the middle of a puzzle: optional rewarded videos that you choose to watch (e.g. for an extra loop or a hint), and a full-screen ad after a solved level – not during the first three levels, then at most after every second solved level and at most every 5 minutes. Personalised ads are only shown if you consent; otherwise ad delivery depends on your remaining choices and the permitted serving mode. The maximum ad content rating is “PG”. Google processes technical data such as device type, OS version, approximate location derived from the IP address, ad interactions and diagnostics – and, with your consent, the device’s advertising ID – to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. In the EEA, Switzerland and the UK we ask for consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform before the first ad (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can change it at any time under Settings → Privacy settings in the game. Elsewhere (where no consent dialog appears), the app shows only non-personalised ads, based on our legitimate interest in funding the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); as we are based in Germany, the GDPR applies to all processing wherever you live. Storing or reading information on your device for ads (e.g. advertising or similar identifiers) only happens with your consent (§ 25(1) German TDDDG) or where strictly necessary to deliver the ad (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Advertising ID
You can reset or delete your device’s advertising ID at any time in Android settings (Google → Ads).
Daily puzzle leaderboard
If you solve a daily puzzle and choose a display name, the app sends our server your display name, a randomly generated player ID (containing no information about you or your device), the puzzle date and your solution (the direction inputs), which the server replays to verify loops and time. We store display name, player ID, date, loops, time and timestamp; display name, loops and time are visible to all players. The server is run by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) as our processor, which technically also processes your IP address (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can change your display name at any time in the game under Settings → “Leaderboard: change name” and delete all your entries immediately under Settings → “Remove me from the leaderboard”; otherwise entries are deleted automatically after at most 12 months. Please don’t use your real name.
In-app purchases
If the app offers optional purchases (e.g. “No Ads”, hints or costumes), payment is processed by Google via Google Play as an independent controller; we receive no payment details, only whether a purchase exists (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Transfers, retention, rights
Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the EU, including the USA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. You can delete your progress under Settings → Reset progress or by deleting the app. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Bavaria: BayLDA, Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany).
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. Optional leaderboard use involves the data described above, including a pseudonymous player ID and technically necessary IP-address processing.
Consent and non-personalised advertising
Non-personalised ads can still use device identifiers and local storage and may therefore require consent. Declining personalised ads does not automatically authorise that access. Ad delivery depends on your privacy choices, applicable requirements and the permitted serving mode. You can change your choices through the game’s ad privacy settings.
